Deputy President William Ruto's political rally at Nairobi's Burma Market has been disrupted by rowdy youths. Deputy President William Ruto addressing a crowd at Burma Market.

The second in command who, however, continued to address the crowd sustained his onslaught on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga. According to a video seen by TUKO.co.ke on Thursday, January 28, the charged mob caused commotion chanting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) slogans. "Tunataka BBI, hatutaki Ruto (we want BBI, not Ruto), Ruto must go!!!," they shouted.

"Congratulations Orengo and Babu for welcoming baba" The Jubilee deputy party leader reiterated his earlier remarks linking the failures of the Jubilee administration to the Opposition chief after he "hijacked" the government. He also dismissed those who claim that they have the deep state and the system in their favour hence standing a better chance to form the next government in 2022 saying he is armed with God and the people's votes.

The incident comes just a day after Raila's BBI rally at Githurai 45 was temporarily disrupted by irate youth who were chanting Ruto's slogans. After Raila's motorcade made its way to the Githurai 45 roundabout, chaos emerged as pro-Ruto youth shouted the Opposition chief down as he stood to address the crowd. The chaos escalated as ODM supporters took on Ruto's which culminated into physical confrontations. The rival groups started hurling stones at each other that prompted the intervention of the police officers who lobbed teargas to disperse them.
