The Cameroon national team left the world thrilled after it gave a spirited fight to secure a draw of 3-3 with Serbia in Doha, Qatar during the ongoing World Cup.
Aboubakar was placed on the substitute team and came in as a savior at a crucial time when Cameroon's hopes to make it to the last 16 of the World Cup after fighting back from two goals down to draw a thrilling Group G encounter with Serbia.

Cameroon managed to be on the lead after Jean-Charles Castelletto scored in the 29th minute.Serbia managed to secure two goals in the first half against Cameroon who had only scored a single goal.

Serbia's goals were scored in the first half by Strahinja Pavlovic, (45+1), and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (45+4), and in the early second half, Aleksandar Mitrovic managed to score a third goal in the 53 minutes.

Seeing the danger of being knocked out, Cameroon coach Rigobert Song sends Vincent Aboubakar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting into the pitch who managed to score a goal each leaving both Cameroon and Serbia on a single point, two behind group leaders Brazil and Switzerland.

Moments after stepping into the pitch, Aboubakar received a pass that he managed to kick over Serbia's head into the net only for the assistant referee to rule out the goal as an offside. With the help of VAR, the goal was reinstated.

In the 64th minute, Aboubakar managed to set up a pass to striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting two minutes later who managed to score making it a draw.
Attempts by Serbia through Mitrovic to score the fourth goal were thwarted by keeper Devis Epassy pulled off a brilliant save.
Aboubakar becomes the first substitute to both score and assists in a single World Cup game for an African nation.

Cameroon is expected to play Brazil in their final match which will determine whether their hopes to proceed to the next level will be achieved.
However, they will be having a hard task considering their number one goalkeeper Andre Onana was dropped from the match day squad following an unspecified disciplinary issue.

It is alleged that Onana and Song had a serious misunderstanding that resulted in Onana being sent home from the World Cup village.
Neither side could find a winner in an end-to-end finish to the game and their bids to make the knockouts will go down to the final game.
