Top Kenyan Rally female driver Maxine Wahome has been released on bail by a Nairobi court.

Maxine is believed to be the main suspect of the assault was arrested and held at Kilimani police station as investigations continued.

However, on Wednesday Ms. Maxine was released on a cash bail of Ksh 100,000 after Nairobi magistrate Bernard Ochoi said in a ruling that there was no compelling reason to keep the 24-year-old rally driver in custody as requested by police.

Earlier, the police had requested the court to hold in a custody for 14 days so as to complete their investigations into the matter.

Mr. Ochoi went ahead to direct Ms. Maxine to be reporting to Kilimani police station every Thursday until the police complete their investigations.
While giving her statement, Maxine told police that she was the victim as Asad hurt himself while he was trying to attack her.

The investigating officer said the boyfriend is still admitted at the High Dependency Unit at Avenue Hospital. They said the boyfriend could not give satisfactory account of what happened to him.
Meanwhile, the family of the boyfriend, who is a top rally driver, is appealing for blood donation as he remains admitted at an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward of a Nairobi hospital.
Preliminary investigations were that Khan sustained a deep cut in his ankle, which was allegedly inflicted by the woman.
Ms Wahome claimed that the man hurt himself as he was attacking her and as a victim, she needed protection.
