The county’s top newspapers on Friday, January 29 reported on a recent warning letter addressed to President Uhuru Kenyatta by some 41 Tanga Tanga members as well as the rising cases of indiscipline among learners.

On of the dailies reported on the Sagana meeting slated flr Saturday, January 29 with a section of Deputy President William Ruto allies claiming that they have no been invited.

President Uhuru Kenyatta allies from the Mt Kenua region now want nothing to do with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

According to the newspaper, leaders from the region habe abandoned Raila even as he tries to make inroads in the region.


It noted that during his Githurai tour, the opposition leader was purposely avoided by governors and MPs from the Mt Kenya region.

A section of leaders allies to President Uhuru Kenya and his deputy William Ruto have clashed over the anticipated Sagana meeting set for Saturday, January 30.

Tanga Tanga members who claimes they were not invited to the meeting argued that time was running out for Uhuru to leave a lasting legacy.

“We love the president and that is why we are calling him to use the valuable time to address the issues we have raised. They are pertinent and important to the common man in Mt Kenya
“His time is running fast and he needs to secure his achievements within the remaining months,” Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro warned.

Mombasa governor Hassan Joho has changed his mind on leaving ODM to form a regional coastal party leading to a fight with Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi who wants the region to register their own political party.

Joho and Kingi had earlier said time had come for Coast residents to board one political vehicle citing being enslaved by politicians from other regions who dump them once they occupy high offices.

A section of Mt Kenya MPs have warned President Uhuru Kenyatta over claims of ignoring the region.

In a letter that went viral on Thursday, January 28, at least 41 MPs declared that they won’t sell ODM leader Raila Odinga in the region or any other presidential candidate.

In the letter, the MPs wondered how someone they had been cautioned against is is dubbed the “Messiah” that the region should associate with in popularising the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) referendum bill.

According to the publication, Education CS George Magoha said that corporal punishment maybe reintroduced in schools over rising cases of indiscipline cases among learners.

He further stated that students found guilty burning school buildings would not be admitted elsewhere once expelled.
“We have agreed with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to make random checks in schools to find out substance abuse for action to be taken against perpetrators,” he said.
