Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza journey as the first Meru County female governor has come to an end after all 67 MCA's voted to have her ousted from office after serving for just 112 days.
All MCAs present at the assembly voted unanimously to have Ms Mwangaza removed from office for gross misconduct, abuse of office and gross violation of the Constitution and county laws.
Not taking chances of betrayal from other MCA's, they decided to use the roll call process where each was called and proclaimed his position on the impeachment.
Stiil standing on his grounds, Kiagu MCA Simon Kiambi defied the Sixty-seven MCAs who voted to impeach the governor by not turning up as he was opposed to the motion while Nkomo MCA Kithinji Ethaiba was absent due to sickness.

In their arguments, the MCAs claimed that Kawira was rude to them and did not listen to their grievances. They further accused Kawira of nepotism when it came to recruitment having appointed his husband Murega Baichu as Meru Hustlers Ambassador and Meru Service Youth Patron.
They also accused her of unlawful dismissals, usurpation of constitutional and statutory functions, incitement, bullying, vilification and misleading campaigns against other leaders.
