unnamed (1).jpgTeachers Service Commission Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nancy Macharia is expected to kick off recruitment of 30,000 teachers across the county.

Releasing a schedule of the recruitment process, Macharia also released detailed report of how the slots will be shared across the county.

TSC was planning to use the pro-rata process where all the 47 counties was to get the equal share of the new Teachers.

However, the process met great objection from Members of Parliament through the National Assembly Committe of Education who claimed that process was not fair.

MPs want TSC to distribute Teachers on population, number of constituencies, wards and numbers of schools within the counties.

Due to pressure from the MPs, TSC accepted their proposal with counties that highly populated getting the lion share.

However, Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has warned Dr. Macharia of not allowing the MPs to interfere with the recruitment process saying it will be disastrous.

According to him, MPs has politically taken over the process and politicizing the TSC hiring will result to reintroduction of nepotism, tribalism and regional imbalances.

Kioni said MPs are calling out unemployed teachers demanding their details in a bid to help them gain employment.

"This is a very dangerous re-introduction of nepotism, tribalism and regional imbalances and it is very easy to bring it in a very subtle manner," he said.
