IEBC Boss Wafula Chebukati, Marjan, Guliye and Molu Set to Testify Against Embattled Cherera-4

Embattled IEBC commissioners now commonly known as Cherera-4, Vice-Chairperson Juliana Cherera,Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang'anya are getting it tougher after new evidence Emerges.

The Justice and Legal Affairs Committee which is probing their conduct during the 2022 General elections is expected to receive testimonies from the other IEBC seniors led by the chairman Wafula Chebukati.

JLAC lead counsel Peter Murage has lined up IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, commissioners Abdi Guliye, Boya Molu and IEBC chief executive Marjan Hussein Marjan to testify against the four.

Chebukati, Marjan and Molu were on the front line in dismissing the claims by the four who claimed that the presidential results declared President William Ruto as the winner of the hotly contested presidential race.

The hearing has been set for December, 20.

Even before the Cherera-4 could breath fresh air, new evidence obtained from the files of the tribunal has exposed how the four met with senior officials from Azimio coalition moments after their Serena Hotel Press conference.

Yaya Center hotel is said to have released to Mr Murage details of visitors who theh claimed were the four commissioners and other Azimio officials allied to Raila Odinga.


According to the visitors’ book, the log-in details as well as CCTV footage, former Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju and his KANU counterpart Nick Salat are said to have severally visited the four who were booked at apartments 21, 23 and 27.

A close ally to Raila identified as Edwin Ng'ong'a Ongwae is said to have visited the apartments earlier, and booked the rooms under the names of the bouncers and other room as tenants as the four refused to have their details taken.

The Cherera four are said to have stayed at the hotel between August 15-19th before they checked out at 3PM.
