Dramatic scenes were witnessed on Sunday evening along Kisumu Highway after police in the highway nabbed five terror suspects in two different areas after trailing them for awhile.
Speaking to the media, Nyando sub-county police boss Leonard Matete said three of the suspects were arrested in Ahero while two others were nabbed in Kombewa as they tried to escape from being arrested.
The three suspects had boarded a matatu heading to Kericho but alighted in Ahero when they realized they were being tracked. They started walking back towards Kisumu after they learned that a police roadblock had been erected near Ahero,” Matete said.
The suspects who had Pakistan passports are said to have stayed in the country for long where they allegedly received training and were in the country to accomplish their mission.

The five whose names are yet to be released to the public are said to have been conducting suspicious activities within Kisumu town something that led the anti-terror unit to start investigating after receiving complains from the public.
The five are currently being held by Kisumu Anti-terror Unit as they continue to interrogate them.
Kenya has been in a mission to eradicate terrorism activities in the country as mostly Al-Shabaab militias tend to target the country due to its involvement in Somalia especially in fighting the militia.
