Deputy President William Ruto has lauded the courts, which on Friday ended the BBI reggae, for affirming that Kenya is governed by the rule of law and not the rule of men.
Ruto said the judges had bravely defended the constitution.
"The people have won, the constitution has won and the rule of law has prevailed," Ruto said during a press conference at his Karen office.

The DP who broke his silence since the Court of Appeal's decision, said the judges had brought the voice of Wanjiku to life.
Court of Appeal upheld the High Court ruling that BBI is null and void and its processes were unconstitutional.
In a majority decision on Friday, six of the seven-judge bench, headed by the Court’s President Daniel Musinga tore into the BBI process, declaring several stages and actions unconstitutional and unlawful.bbi-1.jpg

"The court decision reaffirms that Kenya is country governed by the rule of law, not the rule of men where the constitution and sovereignty of the people are supreme and not the political elite," the DP said.
The DP maintained that no one had won or lost in the ruling delivered yesterday saying it was a win-win situation for the people and the constitution.

"This marks the second time that the courts have pronounced themselves on this matter. On both occasions, our courts were bold, clear and unmistakable," he said.
ODM party leader Raila Odinga who was BBI's biggest protagonist seem to have conceded to the courts ruling.

In a statement released before the final verdict, Raila said the BBI was not a destination but a journey.
"It is likely that today's Court of Appeal ruling is not the end of the conversation and the parties involved will each make their own decisions on how to proceed from the decision that has been delivered today. But we feel that we have to move on," Raila said.

"We feel that we must now see the forest for the trees, and pursue the bigger goal of setting the rest of the issues facing this country."

Raila had earlier ruled out appealing the decision of the High Court. The opposition chief said they will not move to the Supreme Court to challenge an unfavourable ruling but will instead concentrate on preparing for the 2022 elections.
