"Do Not Cry for Boys Having Fun Elsewhere" Mother of Embu Brothers Recounts Last Moments With Son

With her eyes red and her face full of pain, Catherine Wanjira the mother of two Embu Brothers allegedly killed by police recounted her last moments with her two sons and painful utterances senior cop at Runyenjes police sttion told her s she was searching for her sons.
Catherine said that Benson Njeru and Emmanuel Mutura on the fateful day had started a New York business together with their cousin at Kianjakoma market.
With Deputy President William Ruto expected to visit the area, the market was expected to host a lot of people hence business could boom.
She called them to request them to come home early only for them to call her later informing her that they could pass at a friends place.
Wawira kept constant communication with her sons until 8.00pm when they told her they could be home in 20 minutes.

That was the last communication he received from her sons as at 10PM their phones were off. Believing that they were getting late at their friends home, Ms Wawira, at 11:30PM, left the gate open in case they came back.
With no trace of their sons, Wawira and her husband on Monday morning with fear that they had been arrested walks at Manyatta police station but are told no arrest were made.
The two proceeds to Runyenjes police station, Kithangari, Embu and Itabua police stations with no trace.
On Tuesday, Ms Wawira gave out her sons phone numbers for tracking at Runyenjes police station.
She recounts the pain she felt when a senior police officer told her not to worry about grown up men having fun.
"I was mad when one of the senior police officer ridiculed me not to cry for boys having fun elsewhere," said Wawira.

As they continued with the search, and DCI officers coming in to help, the Manyatta OCS told them that the two had jumped out of a speeding land cruiser.
The two boys lifeless bodies were later found dumped at Embu Teaching and Referral hospital with injuries on their heads.
Amid sober, Wawira said that there were her right hand men at home and even if she was to get new Don's, they could not replace nor be like them.
She is calling upon the government to give her justice and not let other women to undergo such suffering she is going through.
