President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed 34 new judges out of the 41 recommended by JSC in 2019. One nominee Harrison Okeche died in a road accident in October 2020.

Prominent judges who were appointed to the appellate court were Jessie Lesiit, Mumbi Ngugi, Msagha Mbogoli, Hellen Amollo and Francis Tuiyoitt.

The head of state delivered a shocker to all judges who ruled against the Building Bridges Initiative.

These included Justice Joel Ngugi who was the presiding judge and Justice George Odunga.

The duo failed to make it to the Court of Appeal.

Other judges who failed to be appointed were High Court judges Weldon Korir and Aggrey Muchelule.

Cheruiyot Judith Omange and Evans Makori were dropped from the High Court list.

Suba South Member of Parliament John Mbad who doubles up as the chairman of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has said Raila will be in the 2022 presidential ballot despite not submitting his nomination papers to the outfit.

"Raila is going for presidency come 2022, I know," Mbadi who also serves as the National Assembly minority leader said.

The revelation came just a few days after Uhuru said he will work with the former PM and other like-minded leaders in future.

Mbadi, however, dismissed claims Uhuru had endorsed Raila for the top job indirectly during the Madaraka day celebrations held in Kisumu noting promoters of the ODM leader's presidency would want the president to endorse him publicly.

A mass exodus is set to hit the ruling Jubilee Party ahead of the 2022 General Election.

The exodus is set to hit Uhuru's Mt Kenya backyard hard as some of the party stalwarts in the region have hinted at ditching the coalition for other outfits.

The latest leader who has vowed to decamp is Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi who is synonymous with party hopping.

"As things stand now, the deputy president (William Ruto) is on his own with the United Democratic Alliance Party and the president is about to retire, since I am not retiring I need a horse to take part in the race," Kiraitu said.

Former Icaciri Secondary School principal Jane Muthoni, who was found guilty of murdering her husband, has been sentenced to 30 years in jail.

Muthoni was charged with the brutal ****** of her husband, Solomon Mwangi, the then Kiru Boys High School Principal.

The ruling was made by Nakuru court's Justice Joel Ngugi on the morning of Thursday, June 3, marking the end of a five-year-long court battle.

Mwangi went missing on November 4, 2016 and was found dead eight days later in a coffee plantation in Juja, Kiambu county.
