Opposition Leader Raila Odinga Says he Will Hold Parallel Jamhuri Day Celebrations on December 12

azimio-pix1.jpgAzimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka have hinted on their plans to hold a parallel Jamhuri day celebrations and other ralies in December.

Speaking during yesterday's coalition Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting in Nairobi, at Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation, Raila and his team reached to decision to launch anti-government rallies beginning from December 7.

Despite discussing the matter the legislators said that they will make a follow-up to the December 7 event, but agreed to examine it and make a decision.

"The matter (of a parallel event) was indeed discussed as a follow-up to the December 7 event, but the leadership agreed to examine it and make a decision,” said a source that was at the Karen meeting.

However, the decision to hold a parralel celebration face some opposition from Azimio Members who said that Jamhuri Day is an important day in our country that opt not to be destabilised.

“Some leaders were, however, of the opinion that Jamhuri Day is an important national event that ought not to be destabilised.”images (2).jpeg

Raila’s quest for demonstrations rallies is geares up by the harsh economical times Kenyans are facing and the attempt by Kenya Kwanza government to ouster the four disserting Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission commissioners Vice-Chairperson Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang'anya.
