Multiplying Fraction With Numbers

To multiply a fraction by a whole number, remember that multiplication is repeated addition.
Example

Multiply 1/7 * 3

Write the multiplication as an addition. Add 1/7 three times. Remember you can do this using fraction times number calculator online.

1/7*3=1/7+1/7+1/7

Now we just need to add fractions with like denominators. Keep the denominators the same, and add the numerators.

=(1+1+1)/7=37
