Martha Karua Defends Cherera 4 as She Calls for Wafula Chebukati to Vacate Office

images (25).jpegAzimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance former deputy presidential candidate Martha Karua has defended the four disserting Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission commissioners.

The commissioners Ex-Vice-Chairperson Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Ex-comissioner Justus Nyang'anya are under scrutiny by Kenya Kwanza government over their alleged gross-miscondict during the 2022 general elections.

According to Karua, the four are being victimised by Ruto and his government for standing tk the right and allowing themselves to allegedly being used just like IEBC boss Wafula Chebukati was.

On Wafula Chebukati tenure, Karua accused the IEBC boss of refusing to Vacate the office considering his tenure comes to an end on January 2023.images (26).jpeg
According to Karua, Chebukati opt to have left the office and proceeded for compulsory leave starring from November.

However, she accusses Chebukati of refusing to Vacate the office with intentions of interfering with the by-elections expected to be conducted within Decber 2022 and January 2023.

Following the appointment of Moses Wetangula as the National Assembly speaker, Kopchumba Murkomen to Cabinet Secretary for Transport docket l, Aden Duale for Ministry of Defence and Alice Wahome for CS Water and Irrigation, by election is expected to be conducted in Kakamega, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Garissa Township and Kandara Constituency respectively.
