: A SHINING EXAMPLE
A NEW CHAPTER AND NEW SEASON IN AFRICA!
CONGRATULATIONS to the 6th President of the nation of Malawi, His Excellency Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and His Honour The Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima for the historical win!
Malawi Elections Lessons we can learn: My Observations
1) HISTORY IN THE MAKING
It’s amazing that Kamuzu Bandas Malawi Congress Party which lost 26 years ago is the same party that ushered the big win for Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and Dr. Saulos Chilima!! Never say Never! For the first time An Ordained Minister of The Gospel has become A President!! “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice” Proverbs 29:1
2) TRANSFORMED MINDSET
Malawians clearly demonstrated a transformed mindset in the way they conducted themselves in this recent election! They were tired of injustice, oppression, tribalism and the nations resources being in the hands of a few. They were ready for equality and justice! Victory starts in the mind!
3) NO INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS
For the first time in Africa, there were no International Observers monitoring elections!! There was also no donor support, the people of Malawi funded their own election! demonstrating that we have the potential and capacity as Africans to make things happen!
4) PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT/INTEGRITY
The Judiciary, Electoral Commission, Police and Army acted very professionally in that they did NOT abuse their office and refused to be bribed! Instead these key stakeholders acted professionally and with integrity. They did NOT sabotage the process they cooperated with the Clarion Call for Change! They protected the people and the Constitution!”Righteousness and Justice are the foundation of Gods throne” Psalms 89:14
5) THE POWER OF SOLIDARITY AND UNITY
It’s amazing what people can accomplish when they come together! Malawians were speaking the same language, they were UNITED and in one accord, ready for CHANGE, ready for a NEW Malawi and were willing to do what it takes for that CHANGE to take place!
6) A CALL TO ACTION
Not only did they PRAY but they ACTED! Voter turnout was massive! Everyone in both the rural and urban areas participated in VOTING because everyone was ready for CHANGE!!
What has happened in Malawi is a sign that in Our Continent AFRICA CHANGE has come! It is truly A NEW SEASON!! The dawning of a NEW DAY!! “For The Kingdom is The Lords, God is the Governor of nations” Psalms 22:28
