Larry Madowo anchors news on CNN for the first time in Atlanta, US

Larry Madowo CNN Anchor: Kenya’s Larry Madowo has added yet another feather in his illustrious media cap. The media personality on Thursday evening anchored news on CNN for the first time since he joined the global media giant a few months ago.

Madowo announced that he would be hosting the news on his social media platform. “NEW THING ALERT! I’m anchoring on CNN International from Atlanta for a little bit. Join me LIVE today and every weekday: New York 12pm | London 5pm | Nairobi 7pm | Delhi 9.30pm,” he announced.

After hosting the news, Madowo too to his Facebook platform to celebrate by remarking that ‘today was a good day.’

In may this year, he was poached by CNN in an announcement that was made by Deborah Rayner, Senior Vice President of International Newsgathering and Managing Editor, Europe, Middle East and Africa, for CNN International. About a month ago in July 2021, Madowo was promoted to the position of CNN International Correspondent.

Madowo started his broadcasting career at Kenya Television Network at the age of 20. He was a news anchor at NTV Kenya before joining BBC. He then moved on and served as the BBC Africa Business Editor before becoming the BBC’s North America Correspondent in Washington.

Hosting the news on CNN has seen Madowo return to the US, where he had worked also was a fill-in anchor for the network’s flagship BBC World News America show that airs globally and on PBS stations across the United States
