The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has notified Kenyans and entities to file tax returns ahead of the June 30th deadline.

KRA Commissioner in charge of Domestic Taxes Rispah Simiyu advised taxpayers to file their returns early to avoid the end of June deadline rush.

“All annual tax returns for the year 2020 for individuals and for entities with a December year-end should be submitted online through the iTax platform on or before 30th June 2021. KRA encourages taxpayers to file their returns early in order to avoid the end of June deadline rush,” said Simiyu.

The taxman urged taxpayers to use the iTax portal or download the KRA M-Service App on their smartphones for easy access to their services such as registration, filing of returns, and payment of taxes.

This is part of the measures the tax authority has adopted to avoid physical visits to their offices to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
