Jubilee Party expels 6 nominated senators

The Jubilee party on Monday, February 8 expelled six nominated senators over a number of disciplinary violations.

In a statement signed by the Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju confirmed that before making the move, the party communicated with the Senate and The Registrar Of Political Parties.



“The NMC in exercising its mandate as provided for under Article 7(2A) of the Party constitution and relying on other enabling provisions of the Party constitution has expelled the following nominated senators from the Jubilee Party,” read part of the statement by Tuju.
Below are the names of the six nominated senators as listed by the party.

Isaac Mwaura, Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Millicent Omanga, Prengel Victor and Iman Falhada Dekow.

The statement indicated that the expulsions are are with immediate effect.

The statement further noted that the expelled senators have the have the right to appeal


Another case involving a nominated senator is still on review.

Mwaura is accused of not being loyal to the party and supporting interests of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).



Millicent Omanga, Mary Seneta, Iman Dekow, Waqo and Victor Prengei got expelled for not attending State House Senate Parliamentary Group meeting convened by President even after receiving invitations.
