Deputy President William Ruto says he is ready to reconcile with President Kenyatta following their fallout.

Ruto, who spoke on Thursday during a meeting with grassroots leaders from Murang’a County at his Karen residence, declared that he is willing to work with the president again without any conditions.

“Yeye ni mdosi wangu, kuna watu wakora wamekuja hapo wakaweka fitina mpaka wakasema huyu deputy president uwekwe kando lakini mimi niko ready without condition any moment kwa sababu tulichaguliwa pamoja na wakenya na walitupatia majukumu ya kuendesha serikali ya Kenya,” Ruto stated.

“Wale wengine wenye wameleta fitina wangoje twende kwa uchaguzi. Huwezi kuja kudoea serikali haukuunda. Waende watafute vile tulienda kutafuta na watatukuta huko tukitafuta pia.”

Ruto was responding to Catholic Bishops who offered to mediate talks between the two leaders, warning that their differences could result in political intolerance and throw the country into chaos.

“We are deeply concerned that if this open disagreement between the President and the Deputy President is taken up by their supporters, the trickle-down effect it could generate across the Country will be dire to even contemplate,” the bishops under the banner of Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) told news reporters on Wednesday.

“In a young democracy like ours, it is important that there is unity among the top leaders as this gives confidence to the people. The public exchanges that are being witnessed are dangerous for the prevailing peace and tranquility in the Country and cannot be taken lightly. They are already creating anxiety among the people and have potential to ignite political violence if not addressed with immediate effect.”

Last month, Uhuru challenged Ruto to resign if he was dissatisfied with the way the government was being run.
