It is all good news to students who sat for Kenya Certicate of Secondary Education which ended in 21st April 2021.
The KCSE which was normally expected to be done in November last year was pushed to 2021 after school calendar was disrupted by Covid-19 pandemic which saw learners stay at home for nearly a year.
Marking of the 2021 KCSE came to an end last week despite experiencing hitches from teachers who went on strike demanding better marking conditions and allowances from KNEC who they blamed for not taking into consideration their welfare.
They further accused KNEC of being in cahoots with KRA to deprive them of their sweat from the allowances they receive as they are expected to pay 25% Withholding tax of the gross amount they receive.

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha promised that the examinations would be administered and marked in a manner that they could get rid of learners fear who felt that they were inadequately prepared to sit the test.
“We are all determined to ensure (that) grades awarded to our learners are all merited and that our academic qualifications are beyond reproach,” Prof Magoha said at the end of the examinations.
As marking was going on Private schools which felt that their learners were being looked down upon by the Ministry of Education demanded that KCSE should not experience similar discrimination on marks distributions as it happened with KCPE.
Learners countrywide are also expected to report back to school today after a one month holiday. However, education stakeholders feel that the government is not fully prepared for the learners especially with the surging cases of Corona Virus.
