Police officers in Gatundu North have arrested two men in connection with the theft of Ksh6 million at the ongoing Karimenu II dam project in the area.

It is reported that three men, one armed with a pistol while others with knives attacked Chinese nationals spearheading the construction at their residential houses on the site and made away with the money.

“They were forced to surrender approximately Ksh6 million,” a police report seen by K24 Digital read in parts.

The suspects are said to have gained entry through a water drainage tunnel at the fence.

High profile police officers from Kiambu County led by county commander Ali Nuno visited the scene.
Sleuths are now grilling the arrested suspects to give wind of the third suspect before they are arraigned in court.

The suspects, in the case booked under OB number OB/2/5/62021, are set to be charged with robbery with violence.
The ongoing Ksh24 billion dam project is expected to boost water supply to Thika, Juja, Ruiru and Nairobi areas upon completion.
