12 Ways on How to be Productive Working from Home
.
1- Start your day with a quiet time, meditation and prayer. You cannot trust a cluttered mind to guide you. A clear mind is the greatest asset of productivity you will ever have.
.
2- Plan your day down to the last minute. There are more distractions at home than at the office.
.
3- Discuss your plan with your family/roommates and agree upon it. Everyone who’s home with you is affected by your schedule, and you affect theirs. If you are not in agreement, it will work against you.
.
4- Take a shower and wear fresh clothes regularly. A shower leaves you feeling vibrant! Also wearing the same PJ’s for 5 days in a row will get you depressed.
.
5- Designate a work space in your home and make an agreement with your family to not interrupt when you are in your work space.
.
6- Agree upon sacred spaces for rest in your home. It’s impossible to feel fully rested in areas that you psychologically connect to work. Bedrooms should be red zones.
.
7- Plan and create a schedule for when you will eat your meals. Working from home makes you feel like eating all the time. If you don’t plan your meals, you will turn into a whole bus very soon. We definitely don’t want that!
.
8- Include times to take breaks in your daily schedule and communicate your break times with your family. This is the perfect time to go kiss your spouse and kids, or just get cup of tea or snack.
.
9- Include times for social media in your schedule. You know that you will waste 2 hours scrolling on social media if you don’t do this, lol.
.
10- Schedule phone-free hours. It’s impossible to get into a productive work flow if you are responding to texts and emails 24/7.
.
11- Switch positions and change your posture. You will get tired and dazed quickly if you are in the same position and posture the whole day. Changing positions allows blood circulation and re-energizes you.
.
12- End the day with another quiet time of reflection and thanksgiving. This is the psychological version of leaving your office and returning back to your family. It gives you closure for the day.
